ABOUT THE COURSE

The Thriving Therapreneur Masterclass Series (TTMS) is a signature program that takes you from therapist to entrepreneur, or as we call it, Therapreneur. Countless therapists of color shy away from private practice/business ownership because in subtle (and explicit) ways they are discouraged from pursuing entrepreneurship. For most of us, our graduate programs did not prepare us to be successful business owners, and the thought of starting a business produces fear and anxiety that can leave us stuck!

 

Guess what? That was my story too! 

 

I had convinced myself that entrepreneurship was not for me...even though my life goal was to own a private practice and despite double-majoring in Psychology and Business Administration in college.  For a long time, I convinced myself that business ownership was not for me. After graduating from my doctoral program, I met some White colleagues who were at a similar career stage, and they owned their own businesses. In fact, they had started their private practices right after graduate school. I was blown away!

So I did what most mental health professionals do for a living, I asked questions! And, I had a LOT of questions.  They answered my questions, and I took great notes! That was the moment my entrepreneurship spirit was revived! A few months later, in my role as co-chair of an early career psychologist group, I worked with a colleague to organize a workshop titled “How to Start Your Private Practice.” This was our most popular event, and it showed me how much people were craving this information (and still are). I discovered that entrepreneurship was not as mysterious as I had imagined...and that it was for me!

Fast forward 15 years, and believe it or not, not much has changed in how graduate schools prepare (or rather don't prepare) students to own and thrive in their business. No fear, I am here to guide you.

In this program, I have taken my 16+ experience in private practice and combined  it with my experiences as a therapist, entrepreneur, innovator, and coach to give you the knowledge, confidence, and tools you need to thrive as a therapist-entrepreneur or as I like to call it, a Thriving Therapreneur!

Session 1: 

Are You Ready To be an Entrepreneur? We will discuss the 5 essentials questions that you need to answer in order to get ready for your business.

Session 2:

Money EQ: Did you know that the topic that most mental health professionals avoid is Money? It is...and it makes sense because many of us enter the field to help others, not get rich.  We will address the scripts you have about money and open up a path for you to see how you can help others and maKe money doing it.

Session 3:

Branding Your V.O.I.C.E TM: Branding your business is an essential tool for your business, and we recognize that therapists struggle with understanding the relevance for their business or how to develop a brand strategy. Using the Branding Your V.O.I.C.E framework, we will leave with brand strategy that addresses your Vision, Offerings, Image, Chemistry, and Engagement Strategy.

 

Session 4:

Marketing For Therapists: Who is your ideal client? You will be able to answer that question and also develop a brand strategy that will get the right clients to your door (or virtual room)

 

Session 5:

Minding My Business: Covers business operations that you need to launch your business and to stay organized.

 

Session 6:

Success Mapping- Idea2Action: Putting everything together, you will leave with a business plan and with a 30-day plan that will propel you into success.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR

  • Charmain F. Jackman, Ph.D., is a Harvard-trained, licensed psychologist with over 23 years in the mental health field. She is the Founder + CEO of InnoPsych, Inc., an organization on a mission to change the face of therapy and to promote wellness & healing by creating social impact initiatives that benefit community members, entrepreneurs, and mental health professionals.

Session 1: Are You Ready to Be an Entrepreneur? 

Are You Ready To be an Entrepreneur? We will discuss the 5 essentials questions that will get you into the mindset of an entrepreneur and that will propel you into business ownership.

 

Session 2: Your Money EQ 

Did you know that the topic that most mental health professionals avoid is Money? It is...and it makes sense because many of us enter the field to help others, not to "get rich."  We will address the scripts you have about money and open up a path for you to see how you can help others and make money doing it. You will examine your finances and create a budget and income goals for your business.

 

Session 3: Branding Your V.O.I.C.E

Branding your business and establishing a personal brand is an essential tool for your business.  We recognize that therapists struggle with understanding the relevance of a branding for their business or how to develop a brand strategy. Using the Branding Your V.O.I.C.E framework, we will leave with brand strategy that addresses your Vision, Offerings, Image, Chemistry, and Engagement Strategy. Who is your ideal client? You will be able to answer that question and also develop a strategy that will help you engage with clients.

Session 4: OPERATIONS 101: Launching & Growing Your Practice

Covers business operations that you need to launch, automate, and to help your business run smoothly. Topics include credentialing, practice management; key performance indicators (KPIs), business budgets, and your basic financial statements.

Session  5: Success Mapping- Idea2Action

Putting everything together, you will leave with a business plan and with a 30-day action plan that will propel your business launch and guide your success.

 

Feb. 12- Session 6: 30-day Follow-Up Group Coaching Session

During this session, we will reflect on your goals. We will discuss your traction, your successes and challenges, and problem solve any areas where you feel stuck. You will review your 30-day plan and identify new goals and action steps.

Bonus: 60-day Follow-Up Group Coaching Session

During this session, we will reflect on your goals. We will discuss your traction, your successes and problem solve any areas where you feel stuck. You will review your 30-day plan and identify new goals and action steps.
