My Approach to Therapy:

I work with clients who have a hard time feeling like they can truly be themselves--on their own and with others. They received the message loud and clear that certain parts of their lives are not welcome in all spaces. They have become skillful chameleons, blending in and out in order to maintain a sense of safety. I help folks explore how their pain, distress, and/or dissatisfaction is connected to, and informed by, this shape-shifting. Sometimes this is a big part of our therapy. Sometimes it is just an important part to hold while we explore things like life transitions, grief and loss, perfectionism, stress, and caretaking. However it goes, therapy is a place where clients can arrive at a fuller, more compassionate sense of self.
While I am trained in different kinds of therapies, I tailor therapy to my clients' specific needs. My approach is collaborative, trauma-informed, thoughtful, playful, and warm. I value cultural humility and curiosity, and use an intersectional social justice lens in my work. I am here to be a supportive guide through the work you would like to do. If you think we might be a good fit, please check out my website for more information and send a message my way to get started.
