My Approach to Therapy:

Various factors play a role in the many ways we construct our identities. I work with adults and older adolescents struggling with emotional difficulties that impact their abilities to be their best selves. As a psychoanalytic psychotherapist, and board certified psychiatrist in Haiti, I strive to create a safe and empathic space that allows for in-depth exploration and supports self-growth and change, a space where one can express and explore painful feelings, share difficult life circumstances and grow more resilient.
I conduct sessions in English, French and Creole.
Challenges associated with acculturation for first and second generation immigrants, issues around gender and affectional orientation, are areas of interest. When working with transracial adoptive same-sex and different-sex parents, we build, together, a space where similarities and differences are addressed, and in which families can find meaning.
I work with cancer patients and their families, providing them a supportive and empathic space to explore their options, redefine and discuss their priorities. I also run a free, monthly Support Group, in Creole, for Haitians dealing with cancer.
