My Approach to Therapy:

I am a Korean-American, cis-female therapist who believes that the foundation for impactful therapy starts with unconditional positive regard. I am a trauma informed clinician who believes that you are not your symptoms. I utilize Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy to help manage symptoms causing distress or pain. I also believe that past experiences are often a filter for how we feel about the present moment. These feelings can be confusing and overwhelming. Therapy is a safe space where these feelings may be processed and honored with empathy, compassion and cultural sensitivity. I will meet you at your stage of readiness in your journey towards healing. I use Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to heal emotional wounds. I am trained in various modalities to provide evidenced based treatment, however believe that you are the expert in your own life. I am client-centered and attachment based working from a strengths based perspective. I'm also sensitive to the cultural factors that impact mental health and prioritize empowering clients to thrive in the most challenging environments.
