My Approach to Therapy:

I work primarily with adults who need support in managing the demands of daily living, work/life balance, personal development, and life transitions including relationship stress, anxiety, depression, and trauma. While I have years of experience working with people from various socio-cultural backgrounds, I especially enjoy working with Black/African American individuals and communities. In particular, I love walking alongside Black women as they discover their strengths along the way to hope and healing from truths previously unspoken. I aim to create a safe environment to facilitate personal growth and healing. I trust that you're the expert of your own life and have ideas around what is best for you. I help clients reconnect with the self, develop trust of self, and explore how they can use their values to guide their steps. I incorporate a client-centered and strength-based approach, while collaboratively tailoring my therapy styles to what best suits each client. As such, I use a variety of therapeutic modalities (e.g., Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, and motivational interviewing) to enhance the level of motivation for personal growth. Given appropriate tools, behavioral changes are possible.
