My Approach to Therapy:
My focus in therapy is on creating a safe space for my clients to pursue their goals. My specialties include using somatic techniques to help my clients create safety within their bodies as well as clinical tools (CBT, DBT, etc.) to help manage any emotion dysregulation they might be struggling with. I also place importance on cultivating better connections and relationships in one’s life and therefore actively work with my clients on achieving their goals in that area.
I firmly believe that the client is the captain of the ship, navigating its course, and I, as the therapist, serve as a dutiful co-captain. I give homework when clients are seeking to actively practice skills outside of sessions but also work with clients who are simply looking for a safe space to come and be themselves. I also continuously assess the progress of treatment with clients so that they truly feel they are growing in their therapeutic journey. I prioritize my values of compassion and integrity when it comes to the therapeutic space. I will always show up for my clients nonjudgmentally and make space for their feelings with care and gentleness.
