My Approach to Therapy:
I take an engaging, collaborative, and culturally sensitive approach to therapy that is based on curiosity, not judgment. I work with individuals to identify the ways in which their patterns of thinking, feeling, and relating, along with their beliefs and protective strategies, influence their actions in the world; I also assist them in acquiring practical skills in self-compassion, regulation, communication, and change. I use a variety of therapeutic models, including CBT, DBT, ACT, IFS, attachment therapy, and trauma-informed interventions, yet I do not hold the stance that therapy should be cookie-cutter; I enjoy working with clients around topics such as culture, identity, neurodivergence, relationships, family expectations, unconventional relationships, and shoring up those segments of themselves they may have learned to hide in order to fit in. My goal is not to "fix" people. It is to help them gain insight into themselves so that they can meet their lives with more flexibility and authenticity.
