Matthew S. Ellam, CNP is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. He received his Master of Science in Nursing from the MGH Institute of Health Professions and graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Pennsylvania. He trained at hospitals, community mental health centers, correctional facilities, and private practices throughout Massachusetts. Matthew’s experience lies in community mental health, and he has provided diagnostic, consultative, and pharmacological services at multiple urban and rural health centers and outpatient practices throughout the country. In practice, he incorporates tenets of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and solution-focused therapy as he engages in treatment planning with clients. He strives to utilize a collaborative, shared decision-making model, considering the whole person, from a trauma-informed, culturally competent perspective. He offers psychiatric diagnostic evaluations, medication management, and psychotherapy through telemedicine to clients located in MA in English, Spanish, or Brazilian Portuguese.
