My Approach to Therapy:

I am a LPC that has been providing treatment to various individuals over the last 15 years. My style entails using strengths-based focused approach to focus on the client's existing strengths, resources, and resilience with the goal to help them build on their strengths and develop coping strategies to overcome challenges. In addition, I am culturally sensitive, inclusive, and committed to providing culturally sensitive and inclusive care. I respect and value diversity and strive to create a safe and non-judgmental space where clients from all backgrounds feel heard and understood. Therapy is a collaborative process where both the client and I work together to explore and understand their concerns. I value my client's expertise in their own experiences and empower them to actively participate in their healing journey. The two main modes of treatment that I tend to incorporate in my therapeutic work are Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) as it is highly effective in treating individuals with emotional dysregulation, self destructive behaviors, and difficulty in interpersonal relationships and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as this model identifies and challenges negative thoughts that contribute to emotional distress.
