My Approach to Therapy:
I believe therapy should feel like a conversation with someone who actually gets it — not a lecture, and not a script. My approach is warm and direct: I'll never tell you to just ""think positive,"" but I will help you build real tools that work for your actual life.
I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT/DBT-A) to help you manage anxious or overwhelming thoughts and build emotional regulation skills. For families and couples, I use Family Systems work to look at the bigger picture — because you don't exist in a vacuum, and neither does what you're going through. When trauma is part of the story, I bring in Trauma-Focused CBT and Somatic approaches to help you process it safely, at your own pace.
I'm also trained in Culturally Sensitive Therapy and Multicultural Counseling, which matters to me personally as a bilingual, Ecuadorian therapist — I don't assume your background looks like mine or anyone else's. Whether we're working through anxiety, family conflict, identity, or trauma, my goal is the same: help you leave each session a little more hopeful, and a little more aware of your own strength.
