My Approach to Therapy:

Hello, I’m James.
I seek to help transform individuals with a holistic growth model that connects the mind, heart, body, and spirit. The individual-focused journey begins with identifying your feelings, understanding the goals of your behavior, and exploring childhood pain.
I assist couples to repair past emotional injuries, create a safe space, learn to communicate well, and create a new relationship. I use emotion-focused therapy and the Gottman method to help couples repair past hurts by identifying and unlearning negative relational patterns. Through empathy I can help them move to a more positive sentiment toward their partner. Those looking to get married will be able to assess your marital readiness and next steps.
I can relate to people of all cultures as a first-generation Jamaican-American. I struggled to fit in growing up which contributed to my childhood anger. After I learned to understand my feelings, these powerful emotions became my allies in helping me, then others, understand feelings and behavior. I am a Christian and believe all people were created with dignity in the image of God. I would love to share tools that I found that can help you find relief.
