My Approach to Therapy:

I have created a unique approach to healthcare for communities of color utilizing my competency in refugee health, and my understanding of human physiology and immunology. I have learned from my work with the Harvard program in refugee trauma that mental wellness is whole body wellness. Thus I incorporate methods such as oral history taking, nutrition counseling, and health education into patient care. I provide medical care and medication management. I provide therapy in addition to medical management. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Trauma Narrative therapy are my primary therapeutic modalities. These modalities are used to support the journey of healing and transformation. We begin by exploring, wounds, doubts, and the often toxic inner narrative that creates negative behavior. We then seek to reverse this thinking, to reinforce value and and affirm self worth. The ultimate focus of this process is enabling the patient to function in life from a place of stability and confidence, rather than doubt and fear. I invite you to take the first step in your journey of self discovery.
