In a society where we have been indoctrinated into believing that something must be "wrong" with you in order to receive care and to nurture yourself, Nicole is working with Tree of Life Counseling Center as an advocate in mental health to break the stigma associated with treatment and help others shift their focus into mental wellness.
As a Hispanic, Chicana, disrupter of patriarchal constructs of emotion and "illness", Nicole promotes safety and inclusion in both her personal and professional community.
Nicole helps others understand the societal implications of shame and fear as it relates to therapy and processing lived experiences
