My Approach to Therapy:

Therapy can be difficult to start, especially for men and teenage boys who have learned to handle problems on their own. I work with males dealing with anxiety, depression, anger, stress, low self-esteem, relationship problems, trauma, substance use, and major life changes. If emotions, conflict, work, school, or relationships are becoming harder to manage, we can work together to understand what is happening, build practical skills, and create a clearer path forward.
Before becoming a therapist, I worked as a federal and state probation officer, in substance-use treatment, prevention, and community mental health. I bring that real-world experience into therapy while maintaining a nonjudgmental and respectful environment. I work with men and teens and aim to make therapy practical, relevant, and useful.
My approach is direct, collaborative, and practical. I use CBT, DBT, ACT, Motivational Interviewing, person-centered, and strengths-based approaches based on your needs. We will focus on understanding patterns, managing difficult emotions, improving communication, and developing strategies you can use outside of therapy.
