My Approach to Therapy:

I have provided services to individuals with many struggles including anxiety, depression, trauma, behavioral health issues, family problems, adjustment disorders and many of the other challenges of life. I am dedicated to providing culturally sensitive treatment to all individuals in need. I prefer to take a collaborative approach with clients allowing them some autonomy to work through their issues. I believe that empathy, unconditional positive regard, and support should act as the foundation of any therapeutic relationship. The basis of my theoretical approach is Person-Centered Therapy while utilizing ideologies and techniques from Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution-focused brief therapy (SFBT). I am trained in Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) which is utilized for trauma and anxiety. Additionally, I use Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) with children with trauma issues. I believe in acting as a guide to my clients assisting them as they navigate through their issues. I focus on the client’s strengths while encouraging, supporting, challenging, and even confronting them when necessary.
