My Approach to Therapy:

How would I describe myself as a therapist? Our typical therapist buzzwords are compassionate, a good listener, warm and non-judgmental. Sure, I am all of those things. But I first describe myself as GRATEFUL. I understand how difficult it is to walk into a room with a complete stranger and hope that they will be easy to talk to and willing to hear about the most intimate parts of your life. For that, I am grateful.
I love to approach relationships with the attachment theory in mind. My training as an Emotionally Focused Therapist is valuable because it cements my true feelings about all of us in our humanity: we need connection. We need to be loved. We need to be understood. We want someone to believe that we are special to them. Helping clients get to a willingness to be open to the vulnerability of love is what I thoroughly enjoy.
