My Approach to Therapy:

I use a warm, collaborative and integrative approach and pull from psychodynamic, cognitive behavioral, and emotion-focused theories. I also use a systems-based, multicultural approach to consider various cultural factors and societal contexts that may impact my clients and our work together. I work to help clients understand who they are today based on the above multicultural factors, their familial backgrounds, and younger experiences and by exploring their thoughts and emotions in-depth. I then work with my clients to address their challenges, help them develop ways to feel empowered, and engage in healthy coping strategies and lifestyles. I work with young adults/adults through individual therapy on various types of anxiety, depression, family and interpersonal concerns, identity development, academic/career concerns, perfectionism, discrimination/oppression, immigration related issues and more. I also specialize in working with immigrants as well as people of color and the specific challenges they endure. I look forward to the opportunity to work with you! Please email me if you have any questions.
