Maria "Maite" Silva

In her various roles, Dr. Silva has conducted psychological, psychoeducational, and forensic assessments, including competency to stand trial, criminal responsibility, and immigration evaluations, and provided individual, couples, and group therapy, primarily to adolescents and adults. Dr. Silva’s approach to therapy can be best described as eclectic, as she combines therapeutic modalities to best fit her clients’ individual needs, mainly applying cognitive behavioral and interpersonal techniques. She prioritizes the therapeutic relationship as an instrument for change and strives to facilitate insight-building and action in her clients, viewing therapy as a collaboration.
