My approach to therapy centers on systems, including family (chosen, blood, etc.), cultural histories, and community. Therapy for couples and families creates a space for resolving issues, managing conflict, and developing a greater understanding of personal autonomy and relational values. I incorporate my own lived experience and healing journey into the therapy process, but also draw from strength-based therapies, such as brief, strategic, narrative, and solution-focused, as well as EMDR and Common Sense Parenting. It is important that I understand that those who come to therapy are the experts of their own lives; I seek the desired change and resolution within the gifts and abilities that are already present.
