My Approach to Therapy:

I believe that we all have an internal sense of what we need to heal from past experiences. Psychotherapy allows you to welcome a therapist on your journey with you so that they can gently identify some the healthy and dangerous parts of the path. With children and adults, I use a person-centered approach, which means that I encourage empathy, acceptance and compassion. Together, we explore where you have been, where you are now, to help inform us of the direction you need to take to get you to where you want to be in the future. I have an emphasis on trauma treatment, focusing on childhood trauma. I am skilled in perinatal/postpartum mood and anxiety disorders for all genders, and I am certified in several parent-child relationship approaches. I work with young children and their parents, as well as adults.
