My approach to therapy is relational. It is important to me to develop a strong and supportive therapist/client relationship and to address any issues that are troubling the client. My therapeutic approach uses Relational/Cultural Theory as well as Psychoanalytic Theory and Narrative Theory. I attempt to understand the context within which the client's difficulties are situated, as well addressing the "Whole Person" by understanding the multiple factors in an individual's life that are contributing to the problem(s) the client is experiencing. I am also committed to being culturally sensitive to the client's racial/ethnic background and use this "lens" in my conceptualization of the therapeutic intervention that is needed, as well as the approach that I will take in providing treatment.
