My Approach to Therapy:

I provide individual psychotherapy to adults living with anxiety, depression, psychosis-spectrum disorders, and those going through major life transitions. I especially love helping new parents with the difficulties and stress that can accompany the pregnancy and postpartum periods. As a former tenure-track professor, I also enjoy working with people experiencing similar high-stress work environments. I use a variety of strategies to help clients on their path to self-discovery with compassion and a commitment to focusing on what matters most to each person, all while acknowledging that this journey is often impacted by oppressive systems and things out of one's control. I routinely incorporate aspects from a variety of evidence-based, person-centered approaches, including cognitive and behavioral therapy (CBT) and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT).
