My Approach to Therapy:

Over the past two years, we experienced an unprecedented amount of loss, trauma, and uncertainty. I understand the dynamic nature of our being, especially as a Black person. In an ever-changing climate, I feel it is important to ensure that safe spaces exist for us to grow, learn, flourish, and heal. With the right support and guidance, the counseling environment can remain a safe and nonjudgmental space for self-expression, greater awareness, and to embrace one's authentic self. As a licensed clinical mental health counselor for over six years, I assisted individuals with a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, grief/loss, relationship readiness, life transitions, and chronic illness/disability. My current areas of focus and expertise include the following: Black/African American mental health, graduate student support, work-related issues, burnout/compassion fatigue, race-based stress and trauma; career development/planning; anxiety, and academic-related stress and trauma. I provide an integrative approach which reflects humanistic, existential, and culturally sensitive perspectives.
