My Approach to Therapy:

My approach to therapy has been described as being direct, warm, and empowering. My therapeutic approach mainly utilizes techniques from Structural Therapy, CBT, and Narrative Therapy; other approaches are incorporated as needed. My work with clients always involves a review of ecosystemic influences (e.g. family, culture, school/work, friends) as everyone's unique experience can affect their starting points as well as their needs presentation.
I believe that we are all born with the inner power we need to become the agents of change in our own lives; it's just that sometimes we need a little help cultivating it. Through the creation of a collaborative partnership, I provide support to teens (16+), college students, and adults in the areas of anxiety, grief, life transitions, and Caribbean-American concerns. I also provide support to couples in the areas of communication, premarital, pre-engagement and pre-cohabitation.
