Dr. Asabere (she/her) is a Board-Certified psychiatrist who received her medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. She completed her adult psychiatry residency at the University of Pennsylvania, where she served as Chief Resident and completed her fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at New York Presbyterian – Weill Cornell/Columbia University. Her areas of specialty include depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, OCD, ADHD, trauma, and issues related to racial, ethnic, and cultural identity formation with sensitivity to the interaction of gender and sexuality.
Her treatment approach is compassionate, strength-based, and evidence-informed. In addition to medication management, she is highly trained in a variety of therapeutic techniques, including psychodynamic psychotherapy, CBT, family-systems-oriented psychotherapies, and parent skills training.
