My Approach to Therapy:

Welcome to my therapy practice, my name is Sherrie (she/her/hers). I offer individual pyschotherapy for adults with a focus on trauma healing and treatment for Black people and people of color. My style of psychotherapy is collaborative and relational and I practice through a social justice lens. I use integrative methods to support you in your healing and growth, which includes Eye Movement Reprocessing Desensitization (EMDR), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and somatic and mindfulness practices. As a person of color, I know how impactful it is to be in spaces that support and welcome my whole self. I aim to provide that safe space for you in therapy and am committed to providing culturally-responsive and LGBTQIA+ affirming care. I welcome all parts of who you are to be a part of our experience together.
I meet with clients virtually (only available for NY residents) as well as in two NYC office locations, conveniently located in Manhattan and Queens. For more information about my services, please contact me with questions or to schedule a phone consultation. I look forward to having the opportunity to work together.
My practice is associated with the Critical Therapy Center, a liberation-oriented psychodynamic group practice committed to collective healing.
